This is not a pitch competition, rather an opportunity to share the social issues that people are passionate about.  To take a deep dive into the process of real systems change.

There are many different ways that people can get involved, it's not always about starting a business. The soul of The next economy is truly about collaboration, even with your "competitors".

These passionate individuals will share with you what they discovered about the Social Issue they are passionate about, please reach out, share, connect and you can even donate (charity receipt included) to their learning.

This is inspired by the research & learning of Daniela Papi-Thornton of Tackling Heropreneurship.  Participants had to answer specific questions and fill out the Impact Gap Canvas Map.

What did the participants of Lion's Den have to do?

Step 1:

Pick one Social Issues you are passionate about tackling, it can be local or globally. But yes it can be only one and be specific.

For example if you want to explore poverty, what subject in poverty do you want to explore? Affordable housing, living wage or food security? Where does this happen? Who is involved?

Specific = Clarity = Winning!

Step 2:

Do your research! Visit Tackling Heropreneurship and read the report - it is amazing!

Download and fill out the THE IMPACT GAPS CANVAS and watch the helpful video.

Step 3:

Do your research, talk to people and organizations involved in the problem.

1. What’s the hardest part of the social issue?

2. Give 1-3 specific examples of the social issue & how does it occur?

3. Who or what is currently involved in the social issue?

4. Who is affected by it?

5. What strategies or solutions have people or organizations already tried? What works? What could be improved?

6. What are your recommendations (remember you are not pitching a solution, you are focused on the core social issue & making recommendations only).

Step 4:

Grab your smartphone & do up a quick 3 minutes video answering the questions in Step 3 & why you are so PASSIONATE about the social issue.

Submit your video & problem canvas to lionsden@nexteconomyforum.com by Sunday, September 24 by midnight.
